So Im looking to sell my 74 CJ5. It has of course the 3 speed tranny and the 4wd works great. It has the 258 inline 6, comes with the bikini top,soft top and doors. I completely redid the inside as far as the dash. All of the lights and guages work. I ended up getting a 76 cj speed cluster because the original didnt work. When I removed it it had 34k original miles but the new odometer says 161k. The jeep is in great shape for being a 74 and it has minimul rust. I took time with my paint job so it really doesnt look bad. I believe it has a 2 inch lift, not sure. The tires are mud tires, but they are bias ply tires (non radials). Im looking to sell it because I just bought another 74 with a 304 v8 so I need to part with this one
The bad:
1)At high rpms the synchros hit in every gear. I bought it like that and never had the chance to see whats the problem. I was told it needed a new clutch/pressure plate.
2) The windshield has a crack in it
3)Leaks lil oil drops every other couple of days. I think its the rear main seal
Other than that its a great fun vehicle
