OK...

I have heard that if you stretch the rear of your CJ/YJ with XJ springs the front will sit low... True or not? If so, how low did it sit? I was thinking to possibly correct the difference putting a set of RE1444 (1.5" SOA springs) under the front.

Also, with waggy springs, I know they give you extra wheelbase, but does it give any lift?

I don't ask many questions, so help an idiot out please...

Me and Stephen added a leaf to the XJ spring to get it level with the front (it was low in the rear). We are both using stock waggy springs in the front. Adding a leaf makes it more durable but doesn't affect flex.

Do waggy springs give you any lift over stock YJ springs?

i would say yes, in my case. YJ springs (stock, OME 2", RE 1.5", etc.) are made for a 6 cyl and a NP 231. mine sits 1.5 to 2" lower in the front. stock springs are shot. i'm running a AMC360, TF999 and a dana300, full width chevy axles and 38.5/16-15 TSL's. too much weight, too much leverage.

i am already planning the conversion to waggy fronts. Ruffstuff hangers and wayback shackle mounts. look at the swamp donkey build thread. you will see the difference in front to rear height. probably gonna put in an extra main leaf in the rear XJ springs as well.

call me if you need more....
