Roll Cage???

Just wanted to get some of your experienced opinions on roll cages.
i wanna try to get one pretty soon, expecially before i start going on too many trail rides. I would like a full cage, (allthe way back, not just behind the front seats, but to the tailgate). I will probably end up running some external cage also, but not a full external.
what kinda tube, design, etc.
open for suggestions, should i buy a cage, or get up with someone to build me one?
let me know your preferences.

Do a search on Pirate4x4....they have an excellant Zuki section. Do not skimp on a cage....would you rather balance the weight of your rig on a well constructed cage or on the various vertabrae and muscles that make up your neck?

if you or one of your boys doesnt have a quality bender ur better off just buying one. 1.75 dom is what i was told to use. jmo

i agree with Jon and 2.5...1.75' DOM to keep my gourd round....

look at rebel-zuk's stuff....tho he did'nt use DOM ( i don't think)

1.5 x .120 wall is all you need for a zuk. Anything bigger just looks too big even. I went with the above dimensions using HREW.....Most people will tell you to use DOM, and you should if you can afford it. HREW is PLENTY strong for a zuk and a 1/3 of the price. I know people that have entire full on tube chassis buggies using nothing buy HREW and they beat them unmercifully with no problems...I mean people say dont skimp dont skimp, well you have to draw the line somewhere, if not then we would all be running chromoly cages. Not Saying The Cage Has Been Forgotten(not By No Means), Just That I Don't Want To Pass Up A Good Deal While It Lasts.

yeah,
had me a birthday party, keg was involved, got inebriated, and i forgot to take the keys out of the zuk.:(
i was told the next day that i was trying to watch the headers glow.
they told me i held it @ about 7500 rpm. for about 10 minutes:eek:
now it knocks bottom end pretty good when over about 2000 rpm. and the head gaskets blown.
GOT A BUDDY W/ ANOTHER ZUK THAT I'M GONNA BUY FROM HIM, MOTOR, TRANS, 4.16 CASE, DRIVESHAFTS, SPOA AXLES, 5.38 GEARS, AND ANOTHER SET OF DANA 44 FRONT AND REAR AXLES.
I'VE GOT ANOTHER BUDDY WITH THE HOOKUP WITH WELDING TOOLS, SO HOPEFULLY I CAN GET ON W/ THE CAGE BEFORE TOO LONG.
